About FixCode
FixCode is a small, independent website that explains appliance error codes in plain English. When a washer, dryer, dishwasher or fridge stops and flashes a code, you shouldn’t need to dig through a 60-page manual to find out whether it’s a two-minute fix or a job for a technician.
Who runs FixCode
FixCode is run by one person — an independent publisher with a strong interest in practical home maintenance. It isn’t owned by, sponsored by, or affiliated with any appliance manufacturer, retailer or repair company.
How our guides are made
- AI-assisted drafting: guides are drafted with the help of AI writing tools to organize information clearly and consistently.
- How guides are checked: guides are drafted with AI assistance and checked against manufacturer manuals and support pages before they are published.
- Accuracy over volume: we would rather list fewer codes we’re confident about than many guesses. Anything that varies by model is marked Verify in your manual.
- Safety first: fix steps are limited to safe, user-level checks. We tell you clearly when it’s time to call a professional.
- Corrections: if you spot a mistake, please let us know and we’ll review and update the page.
How FixCode is funded
FixCode is free to use and is supported by advertising. Ads are shown by third-party networks and are clearly separated from our content. Advertisers have no influence over what we write. See our Privacy Policy for details on cookies and ads.
Information on FixCode is general guidance, not professional repair advice. Always follow your appliance’s owner’s manual and safety instructions. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician.
