Before you look up a code
Most dryer codes and slow-drying problems come down to a blocked lint filter or exhaust vent, or a power or gas supply problem. A clogged vent is also a fire risk, so it’s always the first thing to check. Write down the exact code and your model number first — codes can differ between model families of the same brand.
Always unplug the appliance before removing filters or panels. Never bypass a door lock or safety switch. If you smell gas, burning, or see sparks, stop and call a professional.
