Dishwasher Error Codes by Brand

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Pick your brand to see what each dishwasher error code means, the likely cause and the safe steps to try, easiest first. Every guide also covers common problems that don’t show a code, mistakes to avoid and brand-specific tips.

Choose your brand

Before you look up a code

Most dishwasher codes come down to the filter, the drain path (hose, air gap or garbage disposal), the water supply, or suds from the wrong detergent — all things you can check safely yourself. Leak codes are the exception: turn off the water and don’t keep running the machine. Write down the exact code and your model number first — codes can differ between model families of the same brand.

Safety first

Always unplug the appliance before removing filters or panels. Never bypass a door lock or safety switch. If you smell gas, burning, or see sparks, stop and call a professional.
