Before you look up a code
Most microwave codes come down to the door switches, a stuck or wet keypad, or a sensor. Never open a microwave’s outer cabinet: the high-voltage capacitor inside can hold a dangerous charge even when it’s unplugged. Write down the exact code and your model number first — codes can differ between model families of the same brand.
Always unplug the appliance before removing filters or panels. Never bypass a door lock or safety switch. If you smell gas, burning, or see sparks, stop and call a professional.
